TRUMAN — Wabasso fell to St. James 3-0 on Friday evening in a DII Southwest Sub-State Legion Baseball Tournament elimination game.

The win moved St. James on to a later Friday game against Luverne, while Wabasso’s season ended with the loss to St. James. St. James ended up falling to Luverne 11-3 on Friday night, moving Luverne on to the Sub-State finals on Saturday against Sleepy Eye.

Wabasso was held to three hits in defeat, singles by Drew Kemp and Caden Frericks and a double by Noah Anderson. Kemp took the loss in 4 1/3 innings, allowing three hits and three walks for three runs, two earned, while striking out two. Caden Olson pitched 2 2/3 innings in relief for Wabasso, allowing three hits and a walk for no runs while striking out six.

Wyatt Haler got the complete-game shutout over Wabasso, allowing three hits and a walk while striking out eight.
