NEW ULM — In a non-league amateur baseball game, the New Ulm Brewers topped Courtland 15-5 Tuesday night at Johnson Park.

The game, scheduled for seven innings, was stopped after five innings because of the 10-run lead rule.

Adam Slander got the win for the Brewers, now 18-4. He went four innings and allowed all five runs — all coming in the second inning.

Teagan Kamm took the loss for Courtland, now 17-3.

Ayden Jensen and Sam Keckeisen each had three hits for the Brewers, who out-hit the Cubs 18-6 in the game.

Andrew Peters and Keckeisen each drove in three runs for the Brewers.

Jackson Bode and Nolan Drill each drove in two runs for Courtland.

The Brewers, who host Hutchinson Friday night at 7:30 at Mueller Park, scored twice off of Cubs starter Jackson Bode in the first on a two-run Keckeisen single.

But the Cubs responded with five runs in the top of the second, two coming on a Bode single. A Drill double added two more runs before Drill scored on a sacrifice fly.

That would be all the Cubs would get off of Sander and reliever Logan Sandgren for the rest of the game.

New Ulm matched that with five runs of its own in the bottom of the inning off of Kamm, scoring all five runs after there were two outs.

A Josh Seidl double and a J.T. Hoffmann triple were followed by singles from Peters, Jensen, Colton Schaefer, Keckeisen and Tate Becker.

The Brewers added two more runs in the fourth on a Becker double and a Jace Schaefer single.

New Ulm closed out the game with six runs in the bottom of the fifth on seven hits.

Two runs came on a Peters triple with Keckeisen, Jace Schaefer and Lucas Suess all getting hits.

Starting at $4.50/week.
