Stark stops St. James in TEL action
STARK — The Stark Longhorns took down the St. James Athletics 9-3 on Wednesday night in a Tomahawk East League amateur baseball game.
Zach Haala led the charge for Stark at the plate, going 3 for 4 with a triple, a double and an RBI, while Jack Fairbairn was 3 for 4 with a double and Arian Saenz was 3 for 5 with two RBIs. Nick Labat added a hit and an RBI for the Longhorns also.
Adam Sellner got the win for the Longhorns in five innings, allowing seven hits and a walk for two earned runs while striking out three.
Branson Petersen led St. James at the plate, going 3 for 5 with a double and an RBI, while Lucas Anderson was 2 for 4. Connor Jones took the loss on the mound, allowing seven hits and two walks for five earned runs while striking out four.
Stark moved to 6-9 on the year in the TEL with the win, while St. James dropped to 6-10 in the TEL.
