ST. JAMES — New Ulm VFW Silver ran over St. James Junior Legion on Tuesday 14-3 in a VFW/junior legion crossover baseball game.

Ryler Collins led VFW Silver at the plate, going 3 for 4 with a double and an RBI, while Evan Starke was 2 for 3 with an RBI and Parker Ranweiler was 2 for 3 with an RBI. Owen Castleman also was 2 for 5 with a double and two RBIs for Silver, now 11-4 on the summer.

Ranweiler earned the win on the mound for Silver in four innings, giving up three hits and four walks for two runs while striking out two.

After taking an 8-3 lead in the sixth on an RBI double from Castleman, Silver broke things open even more with a six-run top of the seventh, led by Kaden Stueber’s hard RBI grounder to right. Tanner Kissner also had an RBI single in the inning and had a pair of RBIs in the game.

Silver is at Springfield next Tuesday for a 6:30 p.m. game.
