SLEEPY EYE — The Sleepy Eye VFW baseball team started its summer season with a 7-6 win over BOLD in eight innings.

Adam Braulick was 1 for 2 with two walks and a run scored, while Brecken Hulke was 1 for 1 with a walk and two runs scored. Derek Wales pitched six innings and struck out eight while allowing four runs, while Caleb Oscarson got the win in two innings of relief, allowing two runs while striking out five.

Sleepy Eye hosts Blue Earth in a 12:30 p.m. doubleheader on Saturday.
