NEW ULM — For seven innings, the New Ulm Brewers played errorless ball.

But two infield errors in the top of the eighth inning allowed Lamberton to score three runs and go on to top the Brewers 5-3 Monday afternoon in a Tomahawk East League amateur baseball game at Johnson Park.

Hudsen Jenniges — the third pitcher used in the game for the Long Sox — got the win for Lamberton, now 2-1 in the TEL.

Sam Keckeisen took the complete-game loss for the Brewers, now also 2-1 in the TEL.

Colton Schaefer, Justin Hoffman, Lucas Suess and Cole Ranweiler each had one of New Ulm’s four hits in the game.

Will Carlson and Hudsen Jenniges each had two hits for Lamberton.

Lamberton had taken a 2-0 lead over the Brewers with single runs in the first and second innings. In the first, Luke Willhite led off with a double and scored on a Jake Wahl base hit.

In the second, Hudsen Jenniges singled and later scored on a Kyle Krzmarzick sacrifice fly.

And that lead held up thanks to Long Sox starter Quintin Vold, who shut the Brewers down for four innings on two hits and nine strikeouts.

But in the fifth inning, the Brewers took advantage of two hits and two Lamberton errors to tie the game.

Lucas Suess reached on a bunt single and went to second on a throwing error.

He scored on a throwing error by Vold on a Josh Seidl grounder with Seidl taking second.

Seidl trotted home on a Justin Hoffmann single.

The Brewers, who host Hanska at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Mueller Park, grabbed a 3-2 lead in the bottom of the seventh without the aid of a hit.

Colton Schaefer led off with a walk and took second on a wild pitch.

A Hoffmann groundout moved him to third. An error on an Ayden Jensen grounder allowed Schaefer to score.

But in the top of the eighth, the Long Sox plated three runs after one out.

Keckeisen, who had retired 13 straight batters up to that point, saw Luke Willhite reach on an infield error.

Carlson doubled before Neil Eichten was intentionally walked to load the bases.

An infield error permitted Willhite to score to tie the game. An error on a Wahl grounder gave Lamberton a 4-3 lead before Hudsen Jenniges helped his own cause with an RBI single.

Lamberton is at Leavenworth for a 6 p.m. TEL game on Sunday.

Starting at $4.50/week.
