Hartness drove in the fifth run on a single and Schmid scored on a sacrifice fly from Margo Finstad and it was 6-0 for the Greyhounds. Shay Wilfahrt scored Cathedral’s seventh run on a single by Abbey Hillesheim.

In the bottom of the sixth, Schmid singled. She went to second on a Hartness single. She moved to third on a sacrifice by Finstad. Krueger scored on a groundout by Haala for the final run.

Schmid led Cathedral at the plate in Game 1, going 3 for 4 with two RBIs.

Abby Groebner and Emma Hauger each doubled to lead Springfield in Game 1.

In Game 2, Cathedral went up 11-0 after the first two innings and ended the game in the fifth.

Schmid again led Cathedral the plate by going 3 for 4 with three RBIs, while Hartness, Finstad, Abbey Hillesheim and Brynn Wilfahrt each had two hits. Shay Wilfahrt added a triple also for the Greyhounds.

Springfield was led at the plate in Game 2 by Rachel Beadell, who was 1 for 1 with a walk. Beadell also took the loss in five innings in Game 2, allowing nine earned runs while striking out two.

Cathedral got the win in the circle in Game 2 from Abbey Hillesheim, who pitched five innings and allowed three hits and a walk for two unearned runs while striking out two.
