New Ulm strands 14 in loss to West
NEW ULM — Mankato West defeated New Ulm 9-2 Saturday at Mueller Park in a nonconference baseball game.
Zach Hubbard took the loss for New Ulm, now 10-4. He allowed eight earned runs on eight hits and four walks while striking out one.
Dirk Haynes had three hits for the Eagles, who had 13 hits but also had three runners thrown out at home and stranded 14 runners on base.
Owen Castleman and Hubbard each added two hits for New Ulm.
New Ulm hosts Marshall Monday at 5:30 p.m. at Mueller Park in a Big South Conference game.
