MVL boys, girls take 4th in South Central meets

MANKATO/BLUE EARTH — The Minnesota Valley Lutheran girls and boys golf teams competed in a South Central Conference golf meet on Wednesday, with the girls competing at Mankato’s Terrace View Golf Course and the boys competing at Blue Earth’s Riverside Town & Country Club.

The 18-hole girls meet was won by St. Clair (369), which was followed by Le Sueur-Henderson (371), Lake Crystal Wellcome Memorial (440), Minnesota Valley Lutheran (446) and Maple River (460).

LSH’s Allison Cink was the medalist with a 78. Kara Hinrichsen led the MVL girls with a 105 to finish 10th, while Eden Grubbs carded a 106 to take 12th. Annika Lowery shot a 116 for 21st, while Scarlet Heldt shot a 119 for 22nd to round out MVL’s score.

The 18-hole boys meet was won by LCWM (341), which was followed by LSH (341), St. Clair (348), MVL (355) and Maple River (394).

The boys medalist was LSH’s JD Reinhardt, who carded a 77. MVL’s top golfer was Philip Lukasek, who shot an 81 to tie for third with LCWM’s Carson Kettner. MVL’s Nathaniel Lukasek shot an 87 to take eighth, while teammates James Osterman carded a 91 for 13th and Owen Birkholz shot a 96 for 17th.
