WABASSO — Springfield shut out Wabasso 8-0 and 10-0 in five innings in a Tomahawk Division baseball doubleheader on Friday.
Kade Nachreiner earned the win for Springfield in Game 1, completing the game with nine strikeouts while allowing three hits and one walk. At the plate, Nachreiner was 4 for 5 with three doubles and four RBIs, while Madden Lendt had a double and two RBIs. Brayden Sturm had a hit an three runs scored, while Jackson Ludewig had a hit and an RBI.
Jack Burns took the loss for Wabasso in Game 1, striking out two while allowing two earned runs on five hits in 3 1/3 innings. At the plate, Jayden Remiger, Cason Olson and Kaysen Harms each had a hit.
Ludewig earned the win in Game 2 for the Tigers, striking out 11 in a five-inning no-hitter. At the plate, Lendt was 2 for 3 with two RBIs, while Ludewig had a home run. Russell Beers had a hit and an RBI.
Zach Skoblik took the loss for Wabasso, striking out three and allowing five earned runs on three hits in 3 1/3 innings.
Springfield (10-0, 8-0) plays at Sleepy Eye on Tuesday, while Wabasso (1-7, 0-6) hosts New Ulm Cathedral on Tuesday.

FAIRFAX — Sleepy Eye defeated Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop 8-6 in a Tomahawk Division baseball game on Friday.
Cody Schultz earned the win for Sleepy Eye, striking out seven while allowing four earned runs on five hits in 6 2/3 innings. Damien Sanchez earned the save, pitching the final out. At the plate for Sleepy Eye, Cole Eckstein was 2 for 4 with two RBIs and two runs scored, while Gavin Strong was 2 for 3 with a run scored. Jacob Fulmer had a hit, an RBI and a run scored, while Kaden Klein had two RBIs.
Leyton Uecker-Hamre took the loss for GFW, striking out six while allowing six runs, one earned, in four innings pitched. At the plate, Uecker-Hamre was 2 for 4 with three RBIs and a run scored, while Owen Swenson was 2 for 3 with an RBI and two runs scored.
Sleepy Eye (4-3, 3-3) hosts Springfield on Tuesday, while GFW (1-7, 0-4) plays at BOLD on Monday.
Madelia 7, GHEC/T/ML 3
SEARLES — Zach Jacobs fanned 13 on Friday as the Madelia Blackhawks held off Granada-Huntley-East Chain/Truman/Martin Luther 7-3 in a Valley Division baseball game at Searles Ballpark.
Jacobs allowed four hits and two walks for three runs in his complete-game effort. He also led Madelia at the plate, going 2 for 2 with two RBIs, while Tate Becker was 1 for 3 with a triple and three RBIs, while Miah Garza added an RBI.
Madelia outhit GHEC/T/ML 5-4 and had no errors to the Jaguars’ two.
Madelia (7-2) hosts Heron Lake-Okabena on Monday in Searles.

Sleepy Eye 2, BLHS 0
HECTOR — Sleepy Eye defeated Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart 2-0 and 9-1 in a Tomahawk Division softball doubleheader on Friday.
Taylor Berkner earned the one-hit shutout win in Game 1, striking out 11. At the plate, Nora Coulson was 3 for 4 with a double and a run scored, while Paige Haala and Callie Evers each were 2 for 3.
Berkner threw a no-hitter in Game 2, giving up one run with two walks and two hit batters while striking out 11. At the plate, Megan Sellner was 2 for 3 with two RBIs, while Jace Schauman had a hit and three runs scored and Jaelynn Schauman had a hit and two runs scored. Haala had a hit and two RBIs, while Evers had a triple.
Sleepy Eye (9-1, 7-1) hosts Springfield on Tuesday.

MADELIA — Madelia defeated New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva 8-5 in a nonconference softball game on Friday.
Peyton Bruns earned the win for Madelia, striking out two while allowing two earned runs on six hits. At the plate, Bruns was 2 for 4 with three RBIs and a run scored, while Veronica Ibeling and Kellie Koberoski each had two hits, with Ibeling adding an RBI. Alicia Lugo was 3 for 3 with three runs scored, while Makayla Sorenson had a hit and an RBI.
Madelia (3-5) plays in a tournament in Caswell Park on Friday and Saturday.

SPRINGFIELD — The Minnesota Valley Lutheran boy and the Springfield girls golf teams won a nonconference golf invite at the Springfield Golf Course on Friday.
Springfield’s Braiden Davis, MVL’s Philip Lukasek and Cathedral’s Owen Strei each shot a 40 to finish as the boys co-medalists. MVL’s James Osterman shot a 43 to finish fourth, while Springfield’s Dylan Simonson shot a 44 to round out the top five boys scores.
Ava Lipetzky of Springfield was the girls medalist with a 46, while teammates Mavri Winkelmann shot a 47 for second and Kynslee Kastner shot a 53 for third. Cathedral’s Emma Hoffmann shot a 54 for fourth, while MVL’s Eden Grubbs and Annika Lowrey shot a 56 to tie for fifth.

SLEEPY EYE — The Sleepy Eye United boys and girls golf teams both won at a home invite on Friday at the Sleepy Eye Golf Club.
Cedar Mountain’s Blake Schueller shot an even-par 36 to finish as the boys medalist, while SEU’s Blaine Arneson shot a 38 for second, SEU’s Nolan Kucera shot a 39 for third, Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop’s Cole Jacobson shot a 41 for fourth and Cedar Mountain’s Carson Schiller shot a 42 to tie for fifth with SEU’s Anders Coulson.
SEU’s Sam Price was the girls medalist with a 44, while teammate Kiara Murphy shot a 45 for second. SEU also had Chloe Walter shoot a 53 for third and Ella Pollard shoot a 54 to tie for fourth with GFW’s Anika Lee. BLHS’s Ava Ahlbrecht shot a 56 to tie for seventh with Cedar Mountain’s Jaylyn Welter.
