LCWM/Nicollet boys take 1st at home meet
LAKE CRYSTAL — The Lake Crystal Wellcome Memorial/Nicollet boys track and field team took first at a home meet on Tuesday.
River Valley took second on girls side of the meet with a 130.75, following Jackson County Central (137).
The LCWM/N boys scored a 168 and were followed up by JCC (160.5), River Valley (84), Mankato Loyola/Cleveland (76.5), Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop (59) and Granada-Huntley-East Chain/Truman/Martin Luther (6).
On the girls’ side of the meet following JCC and River Valley were Loyola/Cleveland (104.75), while LCWM/N took fourth (93.75), GFW took fifth (55.75) and GHEC/T/ML took sixth (30).
The LCWM/N boys had several athletes place in the top three, including Nicholai Christianson, who took third in the 200 (24.68), while Henry Oscarson took second in the 400 (55.82) and Talan Osborne took third in the 400 (57.69).
Also for LCWM/N, Charlie Gengler took first in the 800 (2:11.38) and second in the 1,600 (4:54.1), while Aidan Moeller took second in the 300-meter hurdles (44.32), Drew Turgeon took first in both the shot put (44-10.5) and discus (156-11), Emmett Rose took third in the discus (119-04), Braxton Dudgeon took first in the high jump (5-09), Levi Freyberg took first in the pole vault (12-03) and Jacob Miller took third in the pole vault (11-03). Christianson also took third in the long jump (18-08.5), while Dudgeon took first in the triple jump (40-10.5) and the LCWM/N boys team of Oscarson, Moeller, Izaak Rodman and Gengler took first in the 4×400 relay (3:40.89).
The River Valley boys saw Gianluka Fernandez take second in the 100 (11.94) and second in the 200 (24.41), while Raul Rodriguez took second in the 800 (2:18.4), Matthew Groebner took first in the 1,600 (4:45.78) and Noah Christensen took third in the 1,600 (5:03.23). Dylan Dewitt took third in the 3,200 (12:09.62), while the River Valley boys 4×800 relay team of Christensen, Dewitt, Rodriguez and Groebner took first (9:05.85). Christensen also took third in the high jump (5-03).
The GFW boys were led by Easton Taylor, who took second in the 110 hurdles (17.03) and third in the shot put (41-04), while Dominic Krumwiede took second in the shot put (42.07.5) and second in the discus (145-0).
The River Valley girls saw Marley Hewitt take second in the 100 (13.15) and first in the 200 (27.29), while Brynne Ibberson took second in the 400 (65.35), Marissa Pabst took third in the 1,600 (5:55.29) and Millie Lax took third in the 100 hurdles (17.44) and second in the 300 hurdles (54.11). The River Valley girls 4×100 relay team of Yanellie Fernandez, Kenadi Wersal, Yessenia Fernandez and Leah Kucera took first (55.17), while the 4×400 team of Hewitt, Skyla Dauer, Pabst and Ibberson took first (4:30.91). Olivia Milbrath took third in the high jump (4-06), while Lax took second in the pole vault (6-09), Hewitt took second in the long jump (15-11.25) and Kucera took second in the triple jump (30-05.5).
The LCWM/N girls saw Evie Jones and Jaci Jordan take second (2:39.74) and third (2:41.6), respectively, in the 800, while Jones took second in the 1,600 (5:45.89) and Cora Johannes took third in the 3,200 (13:44.37). Lauren Smit took third in the 300 hurdles (55.05) and first in the high jump (4-09), while Ashlyn Klinkner took third in the discus (92-10).
The GFW girls saw Kinley Bruns take second in the 200 (28.81) and first in the 400 (64.57), while Madyson Steele took first in the 3,200 (13:11.13) and Annie Wersal took first in the discus (104-06).
