Goalie Jens Quist, a Minnesota Valley Lutheran student, is currently in his senior year of soccer with the New Ulm Eagles boys soccer team. He has allowed 10 goals with 65 saves in 10 games played this year.

Q: What is your favorite food?

A: This is really hard. I’ll just say one recently that’s my favorite. Probably Mexican lasagna.

Q: Who is your favorite band/musical artist?

A: My favorite band is probably Twenty One Pilots. They keep making music and I think they’re just amazing.

Q: What is your favorite movie?

A: Pretty basic, but the

Avatar movies.

Q: Who is your favorite

soccer player?

A: Messi.

Q: What’s the best piece of advice you’ve received in your

goalkeeping career?

A: Probably from – he’s like my best friend and he actually plays semi-pro now, which is amazing – Ethan Goff. The best advice I ever got from him, he always had this mindset that no matter where you are or where the other person is, don’t look at them, always look at the ball. Because he always says if you’re looking at the person, they’re going to juke you out because they’re moving their legs.
