NEW ULM — New Ulm took second place during a four-team invitational girls tennis meet on Saturday, collecting 13 points during the tournament.

Tri-City United/Cleveland won the meet with 20 points, while River Valley had 8 points and Redwood Valley had 7.

Karlee Prahl went undefeated during the invitational for New Ulm, winning over River Valley’s Taylor Berkner 6-3, 6-7 (5), 10-8, defeating TCU/C’s Elli Adams 6-2, 6-3, and taking down Redwood Valley’s Joci Peterson 6-4, 6-3, all at No. 1 singles. Carmen Schotzko also collected three wins on the day, defeating River Valley’s Jillian Mays 6-2, 6-3, TCU/C’s Reagan Steffen 6-3, 7-5 and Redwood Valley’s Eloise Brozek 6-3, 6-2 at No. 3 singles. Natalie Fischer went 2-1, with a 6-2, 6-2 win over River Valley’s Selene Krohnfeldt and 6-4, 6-2 over Redwood Valley’s Anais Conoyouer 6-4, 6-2 at No. 4 singles. Natalie Schwartz and Brielle Evans took two wins at No. 2 doubles, defeating River Valley’s Reagan Moody and Morgan Arsndorf 6-2, 6-3 and Redwood Valley’s Yazmin Nunez and Emma Lindsmeier 6-3, 6-4.

Wabasso goes 3-2 at home tourney

WABASSO — Wabasso defeated Southwest Minnesota Christian 25-13, 25-13, took down MACCRAY 25-23-25-18 and downed Central Minnesota Christian 25-20, 25-21, but fell to Redwood Valley 26-24, 23-25, 5-3 and 25-17, 25-19 during a home volleyball tournament on Saturday to finish second.

Alivia Olson had 40 kills, 13 digs, six blocks and four aces during the tournament, while Camryn Irlbeck had 22 kills and six blocks. Sara Carlson had 89 set assists, 12 digs, 10 ace serves and five blocks, while Audrey Johnson had 40 digs and five aces.
