NEW ULM — The Martin Luther College women’s soccer team came out victorious in their standalone game against Minnesota Morris on Thursday, defeating the Cougars 1-0.
Katie Schoeneck’s penalty kick goal around the 26th minute of the first period proved to be the deciding factor in the Knights’ second win of the season.
Minnesota Morris had their chances to tie up the game as they recorded seven shots on target in the second period. Still, the MLC defense and goalkeeper Maria Vik held their ground and held off any comeback threat. Vik finished with her second career shutout in the win and recorded 13 saves for the Knights.
