Schmidt opens Minnesota Jr. Golf season with several top finishes

Schmidt had a busy first two weeks of his Minnesota Jr. Golf Tournament season. The 11-year-old has been competing in the (10-12) year-old age group.

On June 13 at Oakdale Golf Club near Buffalo Lake, Schmidt placed second, shooting a +2 (38). On June 14 at Baker National Golf Course in Medina, he placed fifth, shooting a +6 (36). June 19 at CreeksBend Golf Course in New Prague, he placed first with a +1 (36), making birdies on two of the last three holes to help seal the victory. On June 20at Little Crow Golf Resort (Oaks Course) in Spicer, Schmidt placed second with a +4 (40).

The busy early month of June for Schmidt comes as preparation to return to the Minnesota 12 and under Jr. PGA Championship on July 3 at Applewood Hills Golf Course in Stillwater. Schmidt placed third in 2023 and is looking forward to another challenge with skilled golfers from all over the state.
