Pearson, Strei, Fossen lead All-Journal boys golfers

Ben Pearson, Sr., MVL

Pearson finished seventh at the Class A State Golf Tournament, shooting a 149 and taking home a medal, the first MVL golfer to do so. The All-Tomahawk Conference Golfer shot a nine-hole average of 39.4 and a 18-hole average of 78.75 in his senior season.

Owen Strei, Jr., Cathedral

The three-time All-Conference golfer finished second at the section tournament to qualify for his first state tournament this season. Strei shot a nine-hole average of 41 this season.

Will Fossen, Sr.,

New Ulm

An All-Conference golfer in the Big South Conference, Fossen qualified for Day 2 of sections for the third season this year. Fossen shot a nine-hole average of 41 in his final year with the Eagles.

Mason Buegler, Fr.,

New Ulm

Shooting a nine-hole average of 42 this season, Buegler made the All-Conference team as just a freshman. Buegler also qualified for Day 2 of sections this season, improving his score by 10 strokes from last year.

Ben Potter, Sr.,

Springfield

In his second season on the Springfield golf team, Potter finished second in the Tomahawk Conference Tournament, helping his team to a conference championship this year as he was named an All-Conference golfer. Potter shot a nine-hole average of 42.9 and was a single stroke away from qualifying for the state tournament.

Carson Schiller, So., Cedar Mountain

Schiller made the All-Conference team this season after being an Honorable Mention last year. Schiller improved throughout the season and qualified for the Class A State Tournament with a ninth-place finish at the section tournament. Schiller had a nine-hole average of 43.9 this season.
