MINNETONKA — The New Ulm Junior Legion baseball team went 1-1 on Friday at the Melde Meltdown, losing to Chanhassen 7-3 and defeating Watertown 8-5.

Cohen Domeier took the loss in Game 1 for New Ulm. He threw three innings in relief, allowing three hits and a walk for two earned runs while striking out one. Kyle Albrecht and Dirk Haynes each went 2 for 4 with an RBI.

In the win over Watertown, Hunter Larson was the winning pitcher and thre 4 2/3 innings, allowing five hits and four walks for two earned runs while adding five strikeouts. Elliot Schabert and Zach Hubbard each went 2 for 4 with an RBI. Haynes was 1 for 3 with two RBIs.

New Ulm (5-1) plays Excelsior Red at 7:30 p.m. Saturday in the final game of pool play.

WILLMAR — Willmar defeated New Ulm Legion Gold 4-1 on Thursday night in a legion baseball game.

Logan Mielke led Gold at the plate, going 2 for 3 with an RBI, while Colin Anderson was 2 for 3. Kolton Achman took the loss in 5 2/3 innings, allowing five hits and four walks for four earned runs while striking out six.
