Tomahawk releases 2024 All-Conference Softball Team

The Tomahawk Conference named its 2024 All-Conference Softball Team on Monday, with state-champion New Ulm Cathedral leading the way with seven mentions.

Senior Kiah Helget and sophomore Ava Schmid were both unanimous selections for the Greyhounds, with Helget earning her third All-Conference honor. Senior Jenna Hotovec was selected to the team for the second year, while senior Alexa Hornick earned her first selection. Juniors Ava Brennan and Jaylin Hartness and sophomore Abbey Hillesheim were named as Honorable Mentions for Cathedral. Head coach Jamie Kuehn was also named the Coach of the Year for the conference.

For Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s, senior Adelinde Hoffmann earned a unanimous selection in her second year as an All-Conference player, while sophomore Nell Weiss, senior Alexa Pelzel and junior Josie Helget were all unanimous selections. Freshman Sidney Tauer was an Honorable Mention.

For Springfield, senior Brooklyn Sturm earned her fourth All-Conference selection by unanimous decision being named Co-Player of the Year, while senior Jalivia Richert earned her second selection unanimously. Sophomore Abby Groebner took home her first selection unanimously, while junior Emma Hauger was an honorable mention.

Sleepy Eye had five players awarded, with senior Katelyn Tauer, junior Paige Haala and sophomore Taylor Berkner all being selected unanimously. It was Haala’s and Berkner’s second year on the team. Eighth-grader Callie Evers and junior Brissa Hernandez were each Honorable Mentions.

Wabasso’s Avery Carlson was the other Co-Player of the year in her senior season, unanimously selected for her third season on the team. Sophomores Audrey Johnson and Macy Rohlik were also unanimously selected to the team, while senior Annabelle Strunz was an honorable mention.

Minnesota Valley Lutheran’s Karlee Prahl was a unanimous selection in her junior season, with junior Briley Henderson being an Honorable Mention. Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop’s Halle Bleick was an Honorable Mention as a senior, as was Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart’s sophomore Elizabeth Ovitt.
