FAIRFAX — The Fairfax Cardinals defeated the Stark Longhorns 5-4 in a Tomahawk East League amateur baseball game on Sunday.

Cody Huiras go the win on the mound, striking out three while allowing two hits and no runs in five innings. Tyler Fish pithced four innings in relief for Fairfax, striking out two while alowing two earned runs on two hits. At the plate for the Cardinals, Owen Swenson was 2 for 3 with two runs scored, while Scott Palmer had a double and three RBIs. Andrew Peterson was 1 for 4 with an RBI.

Nick Labat took the loss for Stark allowing three earned runs on three hits and two walks in three innings. Jon Kopacek pitched four innings, alllowing two earned runs on four hits and two walks. At the plate for the Longhorns, Spencer Osmundson was 2 for 3 with an RBI, hilwe Davis Suprenant was 2 for 3. Labat and Zach Haala each had an RBI.

St. James 2, Searles 1

SEARLES — The St. James Athletics downed the Searles Grizzlies 2-1 for thier first win of the season in a Tomahawk East League amateur baseball game on Sunday.

Essig 6, Leavenworth 6 (PPD.)

ESSIG — The Tomahawk East League game between the Essig Bluejays and the Leavenworth Orioles was tied 6-6 in the seventh inning before the game was postponed due to weather.

The game will resume Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. in Essig.
