NORTH MANKATO — The Lake Crystal Wellcome Memorial softball team went 2-0 on Saturday a Caswell Park to advance to the Section 2AA Softball Tournament finals on Thursday.

The Knights defeated Le Sueur-Henderson 16-1 to open Saturday and then topped Belle Plaine 3-2 to finish the day.

In the win over LSH, Avery Voges, Addie Ahern, Rilee Penkert, Gillian Hanson, Grace Thorson and Sydney Kramer each had two hits for the Knights, with Kramer adding a three-run homer. Parsons led the Knights at the plate by going 4 for 4 and she also got the win, allowing four hits for one earned run while striking out four.

In the win over Belle Plaine, Avery Voges got the win in the circle, allowing three hits for two earned runs while striking out nine. Voges also had a hit and an RBI along with Parsons.

The Knights (20-2) will play either LSH, Jordan or Belle Plaine in the finals on Thursday at Caswell Park.
