Hockey Day New Ulm returns to Civic Center Jan. 6

NEW ULM — Hockey fans in New Ulm can have a field day on Saturday, January 6th as the fifth annual Hockey Day New Ulm drops the puck beginning at 8 a.m., with free admission all day.

Doors open at 7:45 a.m.

The South Rink begins play at 8 a.m. with 8U all levels playing

That is followed at 11:15 a.m. New Ulm PeeWee A meeting Albert Lea.

At 1 p.m. the New Ulm Bantam Bs play STMA Blue.

Games at 3 p.m. have New Ulm Bantam As playing Marshall.

The New Ulm High School boys JV team plays Marshall at 5p.m followed by the varsity game at 7 p.m

On Saturday at 8:15 on the North Rink New Ulm Sguirt As play Marshall followed at 9:30 by New Ulm Squirt B’s playing Albert Lea.

Game at 10:45 a.m. sees New Ulm Squirt Cs playing Albert Lea.

New Ulm PeeWee Bs then meet Marshall at at noon followed by the New Ulm 10U team meeting Mankato at 1:30 p.m.

The Eagles girls JV team follows with a game against Marshall at 3 p.m., with the varsity meeting the Tigers at 5 p.m.

The day is capped off on the North Rink at with New Ulm 12U playing Marshall.

Fun off-ice events include a “Hockey Hair Contest” for youth and high school and a “Hockey Hair Contest” for Eagles alumni players.

There will also be a “Silent Auction” opening at 9 a.m. and closing at 7 p.m.

There will also be games and contests. There will also be a full concession stand available along with Crush 80/20 shakes and tea.

Summer shot challenge winners will be recognized and a cash raffle will be there and will close at the start of the second period of the boys game and winners will be announced at the start of the third period.

There will also be a face painter there and — weather permitting — Rêve Coffee.
