NEW ULM — The New Ulm Country Club hosted the 31st annual American Cancer Society Charity Golf Classic on Monday, raising roughly $25,000 dollars for cancer research.

The team of Matt Holm, Jake Holm, Larry Holm and Willie Holm won the event with a score of 59, while the team of Jonathan Willette, Dan Olson, Dave Drummer and Dan Baker placed second with a score of 59. The tie was broken with a scorecard playoff.

Speaking at the event was Addy Fairbairn, who was diagnosed with leukemia in December of 2020. Fairbairn talked about her experience battling leukemia in high school and the support she received during. She graduated from New Ulm High School this year and will be attending North Dakota State University in the fall.
