NEW ULM — NEW ULM — The Martin Luther College men’s basketball team earned its first win of the season with a 59-54 win over Maranatha Baptist on Tuesday evening.

Ezra Blumer’s 3 late in the game gave MLC the lead for good, 55-54. He finished the game with 10 points, 16 rebounds, nine assists and five steals.

Micah Kieselhorst contributed in the win also for MLC with 17 points and six rebounds.

MLC (1-11, 0-3) will travel up to St. Paul to play Northwestern on Friday.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL

Maranatha Baptist 34

NEW ULM — NEW ULM — The Martin Luther College women’s basketball team cruised to a 79-34 win over Maranatha Baptist on Tuesday.

Lydia Feidt led the Knights in the win with 17 points, six rebounds and four steals, while Jordyn Heckendorf added 7 points, five rebounds, five assists and five steals.

MLC will be on the road to take on Northwestern on Friday.
