Bullheads go 1-1 over weekend at state

Luxemberg Brewmeisters 5, Searles Bullheads 4

JORDAN — The Luxemberg Brewmeisters defeated the Searles Bullheads 5-4 in the men’s over-35 state baseball tournament on Saturday.

The losing pitcher was Aaron Breu, who went 6 1/3 innings. At the plate, Breu was 2 for 3 with a run scored. The Bullheads had a 4-3 lead going into the bottom of the seventh inning, but couldn’t hang on for the win.

Searles Bullheads 5,

Alexandria Clippers 3

SUNDAY — With the loss on Saturday, the Searles Bullheads moved to the A Bracket of the state tournament, where they defeated the Alexandria Clippers 5-3.

The Bullheads used a complete-game performance on the mound from Corey Schaefer. Offensively for the Bullheads, Troy Kamm had two hits, including a double. Both Mikale Gustafson and Steve Koeckl also recorded two hits apiece on the day.

The next games will take place this coming Saturday and Sunday in Jordan and St Peter, with the Bullheads still awaiting time and location for Saturday.
