Area roundup: TMB tops Sleepy Eye, St. Mary’s boys earn a victory

TMB 64, Sleepy Eye 35

SLEEPY EYE — Tracy-Milroy-Balaton defeated Sleepy Eye in the Sleepy Eye Boys’ Basketball Invitational Saturday morning.

Caden Evers had 13 points to lead the Indians and was 3 for 5 from 3-point range. Erizen Traconis had eight points, five rebounds and five steals.

The Indians (0-2) host Springfield on Tuesday.

St. Mary’s 66, MCC 51

SLEEPY EYE — Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s topped Murray County Central in the Sleepy Eye Invitational on Saturday morning.

Trent Steffensmeier scored 24 points and had five assists for the Knights. Carson Domeier finished with 15 points and seven assists and Kaleb Wait scored 12 points.

St. Mary’s is at Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop on Tuesday.

Wabasso 79, HL-O/F 64

WABASSO — Wabasso defeated Heron Lake-Okabena/Fulda in the Wabasso Invitational on Saturday in prep boys’ basketball.

Isaac Kronback led the Rabbits with 36 points and Sam Fenger finished with 20 points.

Wabasso hosts Renville County West on Thursday.

Prep Gymnastics

New Ulm 3rd at Mankato Invite

MANKATO — The New Ulm gymnastics team took third with a team score of 135.35 on Saturday at the Mankato Invite.

New Ulm’s Kayla Goblirsch was fifth in the all-around with a score of 35.075 and Emma Radloff was seventh with a score of 33.725.

Goblirsch was sixth in vault (8.95), fourth in bars (8.375) and seventh on beam (8.65). She was also fifth in the floor exercise with a 9.1.

Radloff was fourth in beam (8.925), Josie Sellner was 10th in beam (8.25) and Anna Schwartz was eighth in the floor exercise (8.775).
