Knights coast by Clippers in season opener
SLEEPY EYE — Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s coasted past Cleveland on Day 1 of its home invite at St. Mary’s High School, winning 89-33 in girls’ basketball action.
Madison Mathiowetz led the Knights with 33 points, 11 steals, eight rebounds and six assists, while Allie Labat added 13 points, five rebounds and two steals. Also for the Knights, Jenica Schroepfer had 11 points and seven boards, Natalie Fischer had 8 points and three steals and Reagan Severson had 6 points and two steals.
The Knights next host BOLD at 1 p.m. Saturday on Day 2 of the St. Mary’s Tip-Off.
