ESSIG — Hanska held off Essig 5-3 on Friday night in Tomahawk East League amateur baseball action.

Hanska (11-4) was led by Chris Knowles and Matt Suess, who each had three hits, with Suess adding a double and two RBIs and Knowles adding one RBI. Logan Carlson pitched six innings for the win, giving up eight hits and five walks for three earned runs while fanning four.

Sam Hansen took the loss for Essig (3-12) in 8 2/3 innings, giving up 12 hits and three walks for four earned runs while striking out two. Kyle Krzmarzick went 3 for 5 with two RBIs to lead the Bluejays at the plate.
