NEW ULM — St. Peter scored two runs in the top of the 12th inning without the aid of a hit and went on to top the New Ulm Brewers 5-3 Thursday night at Mueller Park in a non-league game.

St. Peter won the game in extra innings despite leaving 18 runners on base in the game.

Jesse Anderson got the win in relief for the Saints.

Andrew Peters took the loss in relief for the Brewers.

Peters and Hunter Ranweiler each had two hits for the Brewers, who host the defending Class C champions, the Fairmont Martins, at 7:30 p.m Friday.

New Ulm took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the fourth inning when Ranweiler singled, stole second and scored on a Corey Schaefer single.

That lead held up as New Ulm starter Adam Slander held the Saints to three hits through six innings before they knotted the game in the seventh on four singles.

The Brewers plated two runs in the bottom of the eighth inning on an RBI single from Hoffmann and a Ranweiler triple.

Nick Fischer relieved Slander in the ninth and allowed two walks, a base hit and another walk to tie the game.

The Saints then scored the eventual winning runs in the 12th inning on a walk, a passed ball, another walk, an error and a sacrifice fly.
