Nicollet 73, Madelia 56

MADELIA — Nicollet downed Madelia 73-56 on Monday night in a Valley Conference boys’ basketball game.

Leading the Raiders was Riley Mans, who had 22 points and sank six 3-pointers. Colton Thomson also added 15 points for Nicollet, while Shane Stevensen added 13, Collin Bode added 8 and Dylan Willaert chipped in 7.

The Blackhawks were led by Ja’Sean Glover’s 27 points and nine rebounds.

Nicollet (6-6, 4-4) plays at Granada on Friday, while Madelia (4-8, 3-7) hosts Martin County West on Friday.

Girls’ Basketball

Cedar Mountain 60, Imm. Lutheran 27

MORGAN — Cedar Mountain coasted to a 60-27 win over Immanuel Lutheran on Monday in a nonconference girls’ basketball game.

The Cougars (1-9) were led by Megan Sandgren’s 15 points, while Nadia Meyers added 14 points and Teresa Larsen chipped in 13.

Cedar Mountain hosts New Ulm Cathedral for Tomahawk Conference action on Tuesday.

Men’s Basketball

Minn. Morris 83, MLC 82

MORRIS — The Martin Luther College men’s basketball team suffered an 83-82 loss at University of Minnesota Morris (UMM) on Monday in Upper Midwest Athletic Conference action.

Micah Kieselhorst led four MLC players in double figures with 15 points, and also led the team with nine rebounds. Jack Heichelbech added 14 points, while Jonathan Riebe and Ezra Blumer finished with 11 and 10 points, respectively, off the bench.

The Knights fell to 1-8 on the season and 0-6 in UMAC play in defeat. UMM improved to 3-4 overall and 3-4 in league play with the win.

MLC hosts UW-Superior on Wednesday.

NUA 45, Mankato West 33

MANKATO — New Ulm Area went 2-0 on Saturday in prep wrestling action. The Eagles defeated Winona Cotter and then defeated Mankato West.

Parker Kamm, Logan Lee, Winsten Nienhaus, Aaron Kauffmann, Cole Ranweiler and Caleb Arndt were double-winners for the Eagles.
