Fairmont 42, New Ulm 20

FAIRMONT — Fairmont defeated New Ulm in South Central District football action on Friday.

Cole Ranweiler had a 14-yard touchdown run and Caleb Arndt had a 16-yard touchdown. Dylan Carreon had an 11-yard touchdown run for the Eagles.

Ranweiler had 15 carries for 170 yards. Jaden Miller had six tackles and Jaden Drill had eight tackles for the Eagles. Tyler Sondag finished with five tackles.

New Ulm (1-3) is at Waseca on Friday.

GFW 44, St. James 8

WINTHROP — Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop crushed St. James in a South Central District football game on Friday.

The Thunderbirds scored 44 straight points to start the game and led 38-0 at halftime. Dominic Henrichs had 98 yards rushing and a touchdown for the Thunderbirds. Nick TenEyck had 86 yards rushing and a touchdown. Jacob Rose and Damian Hopp also scored a touchdown for GFW. Evan Elder had two receptions for 45 yards. GFW had 293 yards of total offense compared to only 58 for the Saints.

GFW is at Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial on Friday.

Wabasso 41, Sleepy Eye 6

SLEEPY EYE — Wabasso defeated Sleepy Eye in Southwest District, East Subdistrict football action Friday night.

For the Indians, Kegan Heiderscheidt was 8 of 14 for 101 yards and a touchdown pass to Kadon Strong. Arian Saenz had 59 yards rushing and Jackson Huiras had 35 yards rushing.

For Wabasso, Nick Marotzke had 14 carries for 136 yards and two touchdowns. He also had two interceptions, including one for a touchdown. Carter Benz had 74 yards passing and a touchdown.
