Springfield boys, girls win C-C meet

SPRINGFIELD — Springfield hosted a cross-country meet on Monday and the Springfield boys won the event with a team score of 30. Madelia-Truman was second with a 48 and Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s/Sleepy Eye/New Ulm Cathedral was third with a 49.

On the girls’ side, Springfield won with a team score of 20, followed by SM/SE/NUC (45) and M-T (55).

For the boys, Springfield’s Ben Potter took first with a 20:27 and SM/SE/NUC’s Joshua Hagen was second in 20:28. Springfield’s Matthew Groebner (20:31) and SM/SE/NUC’s Nate Fliszar (20:50) were next.

For the girls, Springfield’s Lillian McCone won in 21:48, followed by SM/SE/NUC’s Clare Fischer (22:12), Springfield’s Emmaline McCone (22:48) and Springfield’s Skyla Dauer (25:13).
