New Ulm rallies to tie Marshall
NEW ULM — New Ulm overcame a tough first half and rallied to a 2-2 Big South Conference boys’ soccer tie with Marshall on Friday night at New Ulm High School.
The Eagles scored a pair of goals in the second half after they found themselves trailing 2-0 in the first half.
The Tigers controlled much of the first half and took a 2-0 lead into the break. Hping Soe scored Marshall’s first goal at 19:43 and the Tigers later added to the lead when Ariel Ramon Ramos scored to make it 2-0 with 1:57 left in the first half.
New Ulm regrouped in the second half and cut the lead in half after Ethan Freitag scored with 22:50 left in the game. Less than 3 minutes later, Christian Edwards scored the equalizer with 19:04 left.
Aaron Dewanz had 10 saves for the Eagles.
New Ulm travels to Marshall on Tuesday for another Big South game.
