Lamberton earns top seed in 2C with win over NU

NEW ULM — Lamberton broke open a 2-0 lead with seven runs in the top of the fourth inning and came away with a 10-0 win over the New Ulm Brewers Friday night at Johnson Park in the Region 2C championship game. The game was stopped after seven innings because of the 10- run lead rule.

Both teams had already qualified for the state tournament.

Shane Schoberg got the win for Lamberton, allowing just four hits while fanning three.

Adam Slander took the loss for New Ulm, giving up two runs in three innings.

Colby Pack, Neil Eichten and Nick Altermatt each had two hits for Lamberton with Pack driving in three runs.

Lamberton led 2-0 after two innings before they sent 11 men to the plate and scored seven runs on eight hits with Pack delivering an RBI double.

New Ulm stranded three base runners in the game.
