SEARLES — Stark defeated Searles 15-5 in seven innings on Sunday in the loser’s bracket of the Region 2C amateur baseball playoffs.

The loss ended the season for Searles.

Sean Mathiowetz was 2 for 4 with two runs scored for Stark and Mason Cox was 3 for 3 with three runs scored. Adam Sellner was 2 for 5 and David Surprenant was 2 for 3 with three RBIs and two runs scored.

Jace Marotz allowed one earned run on four hits (four runs overall) to earn the win. He pitched six innings.

Craig Fischer and Collin Helget were each 3 for 4 for Searles. Collin Risting and Mark Schommer each had two hits for the Grizzlies.

Stark will host Fairfax at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday in a loser’s bracket game.
