Tigers take over first in TEL
SPRINGFIELD — Springfield took over first place in the Tomahawk East League with a 4-1 victory over Lamberton on Wednesday.
Isaac Fink was 1 for 3 with two RBIs for the Tigers and Decker Scheffler was 1 for 4 with a run scored and an RBI. Jacob Poehler was 1 for 2 with a run scored and Ryan Sturm added an RBI.
Justin Haugo pitched five innings in relief to earn the win. He struck out seven and allowed one hit. Jordan Milbrath pitched the first four innings and allowed one run on four hits. He struck out two.
Adam Heiling pitched 1 1/3 innings and allowed three runs on four hits to take the loss.
Springfield is at Courtland for its final regular season game at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday. Lamberton host Searles at 3 p.m. on Saturday and Leavenworth at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday.
