Stark defeats Essig in TEL action

ESSIG — Stark defeated Essig in a Tomahawk East League amateur baseball game on Wednesday.

Jon Kopacek pitched five innings to earn the win. He allowed eight runs on 12 hits.

David Krzmarzick took the loss. He allowed seven runs in two innings and nine hits.

Zach Haala was 2 for 5 with two runs scored and Sean Mathiowetz was 3 for 4 with two runs scored for Stark. Jake Mangen was 2 for 5 with two runs scored and two RBIs. Adam Sellner was 2 for 4 with two runs scored and four RBIs and David Surprenant was 2 for 4 with an RBI.

For Essig, Jordan Guggisberg was 2 for 4 and Erich Prokosch was 2 for 5. Terry Helget was 2 for 5 with an RBI and a run scored. Jay Helget drove in three runs and Colton Gemmill was 2 for 2 with a run scored and an RBI. Nolan Drill was 1 for 4 with a run scored and two RBIs and Hunter Sehr was 2 for 4 with a run scored.

Essig hosts Fairfax at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday and Stark is at New Ulm on Sunday for a 4 p.m. contest.
