ESSIG — Springfield defeated Essig 6-5 in a Tomahawk East League amateur baseball game on Tuesday.

Carter Erickson was 2 for 5 with two runs scored and an RBI for the Tigers and Jacob Poehler was 2 for 5 with two runs scored. Isaac Fink was 2 for 3 with two runs scored and Ryan Sturm was 2 for 4 with two runs scored.

For Essig, Jordan Guggisberg was 2 for 4 with two runs scored and Jake Stadick was 2 for 5 with two runs scored. Terry Helget was 3 for 4 with an RBI.

Justin Haugo allowed five run in seven innings to earn the win. He struck out 11. Helget took the loss, giving up six runs in 5 2/3 innings. He struck out four.
