Sellner, Brinkman lead Sleepy Eye past Gibbon in TEL action

SLEEPY EYE — Sleepy Eye defeated Gibbon 14-4 in seven innings on Tuesday night in Tomahawk East League amateur baseball action.

Alex Sellner earned the win for the Indians. He went seven innings and allowed four runs (two of them earned) and he struck out three.

Carter Brinkman led the Sleepy Eye offense by going 3 for 4 with a home run and three RBIs. Jacob Berg was 2 for 3 with three RBIs and Matt Mielke was 1 for 1 with three RBIs.

Nolan Huiras and Justin Schwecke were each 2 for 4 for the Reds. Jason Berger was 1 for 4 and Kyle Maurer was 1 for 3 for Gibbon.

Sleepy Eye is at Searles on Sunday for a 7:30 p.m. game and Gibbon hosts Springfield on Sunday.
