Baseball museum set to open in Fairfax

FAIRFAX — On Sunday, July 19, Memorial Park in Fairfax will have the Grand Opening event for its baseball museum. That day, the New Ulm Brewers will play the Fairfax Cardinals at 2 p.m.

The museum will be open for all of those at the park and door prize drawings for baseballs autographed by Paul Molitor and Joe Mauer, and several baseball books. The museum doors will open one hour prior to game time, which is set for 1 p.m.

The museum contains 128 years of Fairfax Baseball history under one roof, including information on the Western Minny years, the box score of the 22-strike-out game, bats used by Fairfax’s famous, autographed Dana Kiecker items, baseballs autographed by Tony Oliva, Harmon Killebrew, Rod Carew, Ernie Banks, Pete Rose and many others.
