FAIRMONT — New Ulm VFW Silver opened its season with a loss, 8 to 5, at Fairmont Wednesday.

Anton Freidrich started on the hill for VFW Silver. He allowed one hit and two runs over two innings. Carter Halla, Grant Bruns, Taylor Hansen, and Blake Soukup each threw one inning of relief, respectively.

Silver totaled 10 hits in the game with Jack Albrecht going 3-3 with a double 2 RBIs and two stolen bases. Kyle Seidl was 3-4 and Taylor Hansen was 2-2 with 2 doubles.
