Tomahawk East League set to resume action this week

NEW ULM — Amateur baseball fans in the Tomahawk East League will get their baseball itch scratched beginning Thursday when the New Ulm Brewers host Lamberton at 7:30 p.m. at Mueller Park.

The rest of the Tomahawk East League will begin play Friday night.

Fans coming to Mueller Park will see some different things due to COVID-19.

All fans entering the park MUST fill out a waiver with your name and phone number. This is required in case there is later case of COVID-19. Fans are also asked to take their temperatures before coming to the park and if they feel sick to stay home.

All concession stand workers MUST wear masks and gloves and fans are required to practice six-foot social distancing in the park.

Hand sanitizer is required at all concession stands.

You will not see the traditional high five’s between players or handshakes.

Fans may also see the home plate umpire stand behind the pitcher if he chooses instead of the traditional spot of behind the catcher because of social distancing.

And players must social distance in the dugouts.

Fans in attendance must also practice social distancing and games can be stopped if fans do not social distance.

While these are some of the changes fans coming to the game Thursday at Mueller Park they will also see the grill fired up for the first time.

After Thursday’s home game, the Brewers will travel to Blue Earth on Friday for an exhibition game.

Friday’s Tomahawk East League games are Sleepy Eye at Stark and Gibbon at Hanska.

Sunday sees a full league schedule.
