Mathiowetz named Tomahawk Player of the Year
Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s sophomore Madison Mathiowetz was named the 2019-2020 Tomahawk Conference Player of the Year on Monday.
Mathiowetz, a unanimous selection to the All-Conference team, was joined on the team by Sydney Windschitl, a unanimous selection, while Reagan Severson was named an honorable mention. St. Mary’s also had its head coach Bruce Woitas named the Tomahawk Conference Coach of the Year.
Making the team for Minnesota Valley Lutheran were unanimous picks Abbie Riederer and Emma Nelson, while Abby Nelson and Maddie Pearson were named honorable mentions.
Springfield’s Sydney Hauger was a unanimous selection, while Courtney Wendt also made the team for the Tigers.
Sleepy Eye saw Brittney Dittbenner and Kadence Hesse make the team.
Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop had Brynn Busse make the team, while Abby Heimkes was named an honorable mention.
For Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart, Sara Kottke was a unanimous selection, while Allison Milbrandt and Maddy Wulkan were named honorable mentions.
Wrapping up the team, Wabasso’s Sarah Franta was named a unanimous selection, while Allison Fenger was named an honorable mention.
