NEW ULM — New Ulm Area went 0-3 at its home quadrangular on Friday night, falling to Blue Earth Area 51-24, Tracy-Milroy-Balaton/Westbrook-Walnut Grove 53-15 and Albert Lea Area 42-39.

Colby Wenninger went 3-0 with a pair of pins for the Eagles to lead the way.

The Eagles started off the evening with a back-and-forth 5-4 tiebreaker win by Parker Kamm over Caleb Langager at 106 pounds. Tied up at 4-4 after three periods and a sudden victory overtime, Langager grabbed a hold of Kamm’s legs on the ground late in the final 30 seconds of the tiebreaker and looked to complete a takedown. Kamm managed to drag Langager and himself out of the circle in the final seconds for an escape, however, earning him the 5-4 win.

The Eagles struggled to gain any ground after that and trailed 45-3 until Cole Ranweiler picked up a pin at 170 pounds over Kean Hicks. Ranweiler scored a takedown midway through the first period and got the pin in 1:51.

The Eagles ended the dual with three consecutive wins, a pin by Caleb Arndt (195) in 2:52, a 6-1 decision by Julian Hernandez (220) and a pin in 2:44 by Wenninger (Hwt.), but early struggles and three forfeits was too much for NUA to overcome.

Trailing 17-0 after four matches against TMB/WWG, Jackson Bode got NUA on the board with a 5-0 decision over Jayden Torgeson at 132. After NUA dropped the next five matches (three by forfeit), Carter Lang won by forfeit at 182 to have NUA down 44-9. The Eagles’ final win of the night against TMB/WWG came at heavyweight when Wenninger accepted a forfeit.

In the final dual of the night for NUA, Logan Lee and Carter Brandes earned their first wins of the day by pinning Carsen Knutson and Bradley Prestegard at 113 and 120, respectively. Marqavion Haefner followed that pin for NUA with a pin of his own over Kris Cox in 1:51.

ALA took the next five matches before Ranweiler earned his second pin of the night by pinning Tyler Barney in 28 seconds. After another ALA win, Arndt pinned Adam Semple in 59 seconds, Hernandez earned a 4-2 decision over Trevor Ball and Wenninger pinned Caleb Banks in 1:42 to end the night.
