AUSTIN — The New Ulm gymnastics team finished second out of nine teams at the Austin Invite on Saturday.

Pine Island won the event with a score of 138.7 and New Ulm was next with a 131.4. Austin finished third (129.55).

For New Ulm, Kayla Goblirsch won the all-around with a score of 35.7. She took first on the beam (9.2), first on the vault (9.5), third on floor (8.75) and fourth on bars (8.25).

New Ulm’s Madison Miller was sixth overall in all-around with a score of 31.75. Also for the Eagles, Laura Bertrang finished seventh overall in floor (8.3) and Ella Freiderich was eighth (8.2). Paige Kalis finished eighth in bars (7.95) and Emily Guggisberg was ninth on the beam (8.2).
