St. Mary’s 71, MCC 45

SLEEPY EYE — The Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s boys’ basketball team started the season off with a 71-45 nonconference win over Murray County Central on Friday evening at the Sleepy Eye Invite at Sleepy Eye High School.

The Knights were led by Carson Domeier’s 18 points, while Blake Steffensmeier had 14 points, Nick Labat had 13 points and Trent Steffensmeier added 11 points.

The Knights (1-0) are scheduled to take on Tracy-Milroy-Balaton at 10 a.m. Saturday morning as the Sleepy Eye Invite continues.

TMB 68, Sleepy Eye 56

SLEEPY EYE — Tracy-Milroy-Balaton took down Sleepy Eye 68-56 on Friday night in nonconference boys’ basketball at the Sleepy Eye Invite at Sleepy Eye High School.

Kegan Heiderscheidt led the Indians with 16 points, while Erizen Traconis had 13 points and Logan Netzke added 12 points.

The Indians (0-1) play Murray County Central at noon Saturday as the Sleepy Eye Invite rolls on.
