ROCHESTER — New Ulm’s Maddie Hogue, swimming with Mankato East, qualified for the Class A State Girls’ Swimming and Diving Meet in four events after the Section 1A championships at the Rochester Recreation Center on Friday.

The state tournament is from Nov. 14-16 at the Jean K. Freeman Aquatic Center in Minneapolis.

Hogue qualified for state in two individual events after finishing first in both the 50 free (24.40) and the 100 free (53.79). She also finished first in the 400-yard freestyle relay (3:42.90) with Kaylee Sivertsen, Grace Busch and Eve Anderson and third in the 200-yard freestyle relay (1:40.98) with Busch, Sivertsen and Avery Schuh, qualifying for state in both relays as a result.

Sivertsen also qualified individually in the 200 free (1:57.45) and 500 free (5:24.29). Anderson also qualified in the 500 free (5:27.09).
