Weisensel named Tomahawk Conference Volleyball POTY

The Tomahawk Conference released its All-Conference Volleyball Team for 2019 on Friday, with Minnesota Valley Lutheran senior middle hitter Mara Weisensel being named the Tomahawk Conference Player of the Year.

Joining Weisensel on the team were senior teammates Maddie Pearson and Emma Nelson. MVL head coach Amy Pearson was named the Co-Coach of the Year by the conference after a perfect 8-0 conference record. She shared the honor with Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s head coach Jen Walter.

For New Ulm Cathedral, senior Maggie Fliszar and junior Sarah Mohr made the team. For St. Mary’s, senior Lauren Hoffmann and sophomore Madison Mathiowetz made the team, while freshman Allie Labat and junior Sydney Windschitl were named honorable mentions.

For Sleepy Eye, Brittney Dittbenner was selected to the team, while Cedar Mountain had freshman Nadia Meyers chosen as an honorable mention. Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop had two make the team in seniors Hannah Panitzke and Shelby Ramirez, while freshman Brynn Busse, senior Kaitlyn Lee and sophomore Julia Schweiss were named honorable mentions.

Springfield senior Kora Wahl and junior Cylee Graff were named to the team, while senior Eva Mark was named an honorable mention. Wabasso had senior Cora Eichten make the team, while freshman Kelsey Frank was chosen as an honorable mention. Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart saw senior Sarah Kottke named to the team.
