Rummel’s walk-off single helps lift Tigers by Grizzlies on Friday night

SPRINGFIELD — The Springfield Tigers got a 7-6 walk-off win over the Searles Grizzlies on Friday night in Tomahawk East League amateur baseball action.

With one out in the bottom of the ninth after tying it at 6-all on a Decker Scheffler single, Mason Rummel got a single to left-center to score Scheffler and grab the win for the Tigers.

Scheffler led the Tigers in the hit column, going 3 for 6 with an RBI, while Rummel, Carter Erickson, Branden Flock and Matt Vogel each added two hits.

Erickson got the win in relief for Springfield, pitching 1 1/3 innings and allowing one hit, one walk and no runs.

Craig Fischer took the loss for searles in 1/3 innings, giving up one earned run on three hits.

Justin Bruns led the Grizzlies with three hits and an RBI, while Ryley Hansen was 2 for 5 and Collin Helget added a double and three RBIs.
