LUVERNE — The New Ulm VFW Silver baseball team split two games Saturday at the Luverne tournament.

In the first game, Pipestone beat New Ulm 8-4. Carter Lang was the losing pitcher. Julian Hernandez went 3-for-3 with two RBI, while Aiden Eckstein went 2-for-4 with one RBI.

In the second game, New Ulm Silver beat Renner, S.D., 9-7. Josh Giefer was the winning pitcher. Lang was 2-for-2 at the plate with three RBI. Maddox Mortensen was 2-for-3 with four RBI, and Jaden Drill was 1-for-2 with two RBI.

The VFW Silver record stands at 2-1.
