Sam Ayd, Cory Stormer and Jacob Halverson each scored two goals as the New Ulm Steel defeated Evansville 9-1 in NA3HL hockey action Friday.

Baylor Hudson, Hunter Johnson and Jarrett Cammarata each scored a goal for New Ulm, which scored five times in the third period to put the game away.

James Royce had eight saves in the win.

The same two teams battle again on Saturday.
